Why Go: IRS-trained Tax-Aide counselors assist disabled persons and those age 60 and over with low to moderate incomes in filing their taxes again this year at the Milano Senior Center (no Schedule C, complicated D, or E forms will be prepared). Appointments may be made by calling 781-665-4304 mornings. Time permitting, walk-ins will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis—after appointments. Melrose residents only.

Why Go: The Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Drama Club proudly presents a stage adaptation of J.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy tale, The Hobbit. The Hobbit tells the story of Bilbo Baggins, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits, who is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover an important treasure. It's the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results—not only for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth. This show will warm the hearts of all who continue to enjoy this kind of magic and is appropriate for all ages.
