Local Chicks Sing for Charity

 These days it’s hip to be a chick singer. What’s even more hip? Emerging female artists using the gift of music to give back to the local community.

 BOSTON – Chick Singer Night (CSN) Boston is partnering with the legendary Johnny D’s in Somerville to host a talent showcase featuring an all female line-up. The upcoming show on Saturday, March 26th is one of three for 2011 and will feature the Porch Party Mamas, Liz Cook, Hannah Madison Taylor, Colleen Nicholas, Sasha Yatchenko, “RU Man enough” feature, David Kisiel and more. Performers will be accompanied by the CSN “House Band”-Joe Musella, Justin Kolack, Jeff Muzzerole, and Tim Butterworth. Hosting the show will be the directors of the Boston Chapter, local musicians and educators Jennifer Truesdale of Arlington and Kristin Bythewood of Billerica.

 CSN Boston is sponsored by The Real School of Music, Jeannie Deva Voice Studios and the national non-profit organization Breathe-A Foundation for the Artist. Past supporters include the Berklee College of Music and major label performing artists like Sheryl Crow, Nora Jones and Paula Cole.

 The March 26th showcase will be held at Johnny D’s in Davis Square in Somerville from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and doors will open at 3:30 p.m.  All ages welcome-under 21 with an adult.   All proceeds will go directly to fund music programs in local Boston area public schools.

 More about Chick Singer Night: CSN is a national non-profit organization that exists to promote up-and-coming young female talent, giving them a much-deserved start in the music industry. The Boston Chapter has set itself apart by donating all the proceeds from its talent showcases to fund needs in local music and arts programs that have experienced significant budget cuts.
