3) Farmer’s market season is right around the corner, but folks in the know can get delicious, locally grown food and handcrafted wares at the . The market opens Sunday at 6 a.m. Take the Orange Line to Tufts Medical Center and walk 13 minutes to the market.

4) If you’re looking for cheap, good eats this weekend, check out at . Oysters are a buck apiece, and you can wash them down with a $3.50 Narragansett tall boy. The shuckable feast starts Sunday at 4 p.m. and ends when the oysters are gone. Take the Orange Line to Tufts Medical Center and walk nine minutes to the restaurant.

5) Sunday night’s the biggie: the reconstituted Van Halen comes to the Garden in support of their new album. For those long-suffering fans whose hearts sank hearing the first single, “Tattoo,” listen to snippets of "As Is" and "China Town" before you make up your mind. Tickets are scarce and start at $47. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Take the Orange Line to North Station and walk into the TD Garden.
