Videos: Hundreds Pack Middle School for Celebrate the Arts

The third annual event showcasing Melrose students' artistic endeavors raised money for the Victoria McLaughlin Foundation, which funds various afterschool and enrichment programs.

On Thursday, April 14, the third annual Celebrate the Arts festival packed the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School with parents and students alike admiring artwork created by Melrose students from kindergarten through 12th Grade. Students posed next to their works as parents snapped photo, as attendees enjoyed pastries, lemonade and performances by the Melrose High School Orchestra and Chorus, and later from the high school Jazz Band and String Quartet. The event raised money for the Victoria McLaughlin Foundation, which supports several afterschool and enrichment programs for Melrose students.

Watch our videos above showing scenes from the event—including an interview with John McLaughlin talking about the various programs the Foundation supports—and clips from the Melrose High School Orchestra's performance.
