Busy Bee Bakery Closes

The Hurd Street bakery operated in the city for three years.

After three years of tasty service, Melrose's Busy Bee Bakery announced it was going out of business last week.

The popular bakery, run by Elin Agustsson, clearly made impressions in the city: the eatery won a Melrose Patch Readers' Choice award for the city's best sandwiches and was also featured on an episode of Chronicle.

Agustsson made the announcement on their Facebook page last week. A follow-up message for comment was not immediately returned this weekend.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you the Busy Bee Bakery has closed its doors for the last time," the statement read

"We would like to thank all of our loyal patrons who have supported us, and made coming to work an absolute joy. We leave knowing that for the last 3 years we have made the highest quality, and most delicious food in town.

"It has been a pleasure to bake for all of you.

"Busy Bee, out."
