Anytime Fitness
Deal: There's yet another place to work out coming to town. Anytime Fitness (known for 24/7 hours) is about to open its doors in a section of the former Melrose Drug location very soon. To celebrate its imminent arrival, the company is running a pre-opening sale, which includes reduced monthly rates. Check the Anytime Fitness Melrose Facebook page for more details.

Deal: Stoneham Theatre knows that times are tough lately. In the interest of spreading the joy of local holiday theater even when purse strings are tight, the theater is offering two Pay What You Can Nights in November: one on Friday, November 25 (7:00 p.m.), for The Nutcracker and one on Saturday, November 26 (1:00 p.m.), for Sister's Christmas Catechism. Seats are first come-first served starting one hour before each performance. See the theater's Web site for more details.

Filene's Basement
Deal: Annnd they're outta here: Both the Filene's Basement in the Square One Mall and the North Shore Mall are closing up for good by the end of this year. Grab the 50 percent savings while inventory is still around--those men's suits and designer handbags aren't long for this world.

Pretty Spooky
Local Etsy Deal of the Week: It's pieces like those in the Etsy shop Pretty Spooky's Handmade Pleasures that make us wish that we had followed up on those crocheting lessons years ago. Sigh. Luckily, Gaye Burrill in Lynnfield did take the lessons, and now we can enjoy the benefits, Check out her reasonably priced hats and scarves--we think that the Shabby Slouchy and the Camouflage Charm have a certain je ne sais quoi. And looking at the snow outside, we could all use a little of that.
