5 Things: Blizzard to Hit Melrose Area Friday

1. Blizzard is afoot: The Melrose area is expected to be walloped by 12 to 24 inches of snow during a blizzard Friday through Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
2. DPW gears up for blizzard: The Melrose Department of Public Works is ramping up efforts in prepartion for blizzard-like conditions Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.

3. In case you missed it: Mayor Rob Dolan's request for a 26 percent pay increase was approved this week by the Melrose Board of Aldermen.
4. Open mic night at Ab Fab: Sign-up starts at 7 p.m. Thursday and music kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Absolutely Fabulous in Melrose.
