A Fond Farewell

Mark Ouellette, who has served as editor of Melrose Patch since August, will be taking over as editor of Stoneham Patch starting Monday.

After spending more than nine months as editor of Melrose Patch, I will be taking over the editorial duties at Stoneham Patch.

I have enjoyed getting to know Melrosians either in person or via Melrose Patch's social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. From day one it was always apparent just how much you cared about your community and the various activities happening in it, and I greatly appreciate all your help along the way whether it be blog submissions or news tips.

Whether it was blizzard and election coverage, updates on Whole Foods' plans to take over Johnnie's Foodmaster or, most recently, the tragic death of a World War II veteran in a MBTA bus accident, there was always something happening in this busy city.

While it will be sad to leave Melrose Patch, I will be making a return to Stoneham Patch, where I served as editor for more than two years. I also will remain primary editor at Winchester Patch.

Although I will be leaving Melrose Patch, a familiar face will be taking over the helm starting Monday: Editor Chris Caesar. Caesar, who previously spent a couple months working as co-editor with me at Melrose Patch, also serves as the lead editor of Malden Patch.

If you have any news tips or editorial concerns, you can reach out to Melrose Patch at melrose@patch.com. However, if you need assistance with creating a free Melrose Patch user account, starting a blog, posting an event or announcement, contact Community Editor Danielle Masterson at danielle.masterson@patch.com.

Again, it was a pleasure working with you all and I wish you nothing but the best in the future.
