Adopt Billy, An All-White Cat with Blue Eyes

PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization serving Melrose and other neighboring communities.

My name is Billy and my personality is a huge as my beautiful baby blues.  I am all white, so I am stunning. Of course, you are not picking me on my looks. So you should know I am also friendly and once I get to know you, I am yours.  Did I mention I am fun?  Life with me will never be dull.  Are you up for that?

I have many amazing qualities.  I can never resist an invitation to play, especially with a chase toy or something you dangle or bounce, like a cat dancer.  If you are busy, I am happy to play by myself.  I love chasing stuffed mice and balls. I like to play a game with my foster at night.  When she turns off the light, I start running around and having fun. When she switches the light back on, however, I stop and pretend it was not me acting so crazy.  When she turns off the light again, I start all over with my game.  I get tired quickly, however, so don’t’ worry about me keeping you up all night.  I would much prefer to snuggle with you than to engage in pranks.  I just like to make jokes.  Have you ever had a funny cat? 

I definitely love human company.  My former owner was a piano player and I used to sit on the piano while he played.  I also hung out with him while he cooked.  If you like watching tv, I could join you.  I do not have favorite programs, so don’t worry, I won’t fight you for the remote. If I do not like the program, I will go sit in my cat condo in front of the window and groom.  I do have to keep up my looks you know.  I am very finicky about that.  You can help by brushing me.  I love that and just wait until you hear my special purr.

I am an all white cat, which means I am deaf.  But you won’t be able to tell that most of the time.  I feel the floor vibrations and am very perceptive. If I do need you, I will meow.  Because I don’t hear, I make very unique meowing and throaty noises.  Or so I am told.   

I have always been an only child, but I am actually ok with other cats and have recently met some dogs.  I can be a bit hissy at first with unfamiliar animals.  I swatted the dog I met, but as long as it leaves me alone, I am fine living with him.  Ditto for other cats.  I have met a few I enjoyed playing with.  Others, I just ask to leave me alone.  I am not sure about young kids.  As I don’t hear, maybe that is not the best mix for me.

So that is me, Billy Blue Eyes.  I am a charmer with a sense of humor.  I am loyal and fun.  Please do not judge me by our first meeting.  I need to get to know you a bit before accepting you.  Then it will be nothing but love and you will be smitten when my big blue eyes brighten at the sight of you.  Really!  I am like that….a real lover and a stunner.  Won’t you call so we can meet ASAP?
