City Hall and School Meetings: Jan. 31-Feb. 6

The following Melrose boards, commissions and committees will meet this week. Names of boards are linked to PDFs of the agendas, if available.

School Committee

• The School Committee will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Agenda highlight: Continuing review of the fiscal 2012 budget. On the docket are the elementary and special education budgets.

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall Board of Trustees

• The Board of Trustees will meet on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. Agenda highlight: the fiscal 2012 budget.

Melrose Planning Board—Zoning Subcommittee

• The Zoning Subcommittee will meet on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. to discuss potential amendments to the signage section of the zoning ordinance. .

Conservation Commission

• The Conservation Commission will meet on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Agenda highlight: a continued public hearing on the new athletic fieldat Melrose High School.

DCR—Middlesex Fells

• The state Department of Conservation and Recreation will hold a meeting on Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the McGlynn School in Medford regarding new rules for the Middlesex Fells and on the resource management planning process. .

School Site Councils

• The Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Site Council will meet on Monday at 3 p.m. Agenda highlight: reviewing the new district School Improvement Plan templates.
