Freecycle Tuesdays: Five Free Deals in Melrose [Sept. 13]

The Freecycle philosophy is simple: Offer something to others that you no longer need; take something off of someone's hands—all for free. It's like a yard sale fell in love with recycling, got married and had a baby named Freecycle.

The Freecycle Melrose group is one of the most active in the area, offering tons of great deals. Click here for more information on the group, or to find out how to obtain any of these great items. 

Here is just a sampling of some of the deals we found offered this week. Note: Offers change all the time or are taken quickly.

1) Vidal Sassoon ceramic straightening iron: "Works fine but there is a loose connection in the plug. Depending on how you hold it the power flicks on/off. You can probably just tape it securely or if you are handy you can fix it. I am just too lazy to do both but if you have patience it works no problem." Offered by "Paul."

2) Button batteries: "One button battery 389 (got wrong size opened pack...never used) and one button battery 357 (new in pack)." Offered by "Steve."

3) Children's rubber riding boots: "I have a pair of black rubber boots that are meant for horseback riding but can be used as regular rain boots. Solid black, come to just below the knee, size 4." Offered by "leslierawe."

4) Stoller cozy: "Stroller Cozy or bunting for stroller, faux shearling look, to keep little one bundled up in cold weather. New in box, never used." Offered by "mfglickman."

5) Recliner chair: Offered by "LoisWilson."
