Hot Off the T: 5 Things To Do in Boston This Weekend

Free music festival, a scavenger hunt, and J. Geils.

(All events are in walking distance from Orange Line stops on the MBTA.)

  1. MUSIC FESTIVAL AT CITY HALL PLAZA: The Boston Urban Music Fest features Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller, Moe Pope and Dorchester's Moufy. At Boston City Hall Plaza at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Free.
    Take the Orange Line to Haymarket Station, cross the street and walk up the stairs to City Hall Plaza

  2. HUBWAY SCAVENGER HUNT: The new bike sharing program in Boston is co-sponsoring this with Patagonia. They're giving away Patagonia merchandise, Hubway passes and other prizes. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. starting at Patagonia, 346 Newbury St. Free. 
    Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 15 minutes to the Patagonia store.
     
  3. SOWA OPEN MARKET: Every Sunday from 10 a.m.- 4p.m. this also features a and attracts people looking for unique things. A great place to stroll when the weather is good. 
    Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 20 minutes to 460 Harrison Ave.
     
  4. J. GEILS BAND: As of this writing some tickets were still left for the Saturday 8 p.m show at the Bank of America Pavillion.
    Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and walk 30 minutes (along the beautiful waterfront) to the Pavillion.
  5. : "Close Distance" at the Boston Center for the Arts in the South End features six emerging Boston-area Latino artists. The works include paint, video/film, installations, performance and more. On Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
    Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 10 minutes to the Mills Gallery.
