Learn to Use Patch at the Library on Wednesday

No registration required. Swing by the Melrose Public Library's Trustees Room anytime between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, March 28 and Patch editors will show you how to get the most of Patch.

Everyone knows that Patch is more than a daily online news site—it's a 21st century town square where everyone in the community can share their news, events and connect with their neighbors.

Still unsure how to do all that? We're holding a free 'Patch Academy' on Wednesday, March 28 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Melrose Public Library, 69 West Emerson St., upstairs in the Trustees Room.

This isn't a formal class, but simply an open house where you can drop in anytime. No registration is required, but if you know you're coming, feel free to fill out the form above so we can make sure to have enough pastries and coffee on hand. (That's right, free pastries and coffee!)

Melrose Patch Editor , Ad Manager and other Patch staffers will show you how to quickly:

  • Post Announcements and Events: Whether your son or daughter recently won an award or you've got a fundraiser coming up you need to publicize, you can get the word out to everyone by posting on Patch.
  • Upload Photos and Videos: Our Neighborhood Gallery lets you share your great pictures from around the community at anytime, and Patch users are encouraged to share photos and videos on our articles.
  • Claim Your Business' Places Listing: Business owners can claim their free listing in our directory—one of the first search results when your business is Googled—and add more information, connect with your customers and have them follow your listing to get updates anytime you have something new to announce.

You can also learn more about advertising on Melrose Patch, how we use Facebook and Twitter to connect with the community, and how Patch runs on a daily basis.
