On Friday night, 234 member of the Melrose High School Class of 2011 strode across the stage, and turning their tassels from right to left, as a familiar theme—in both whimsical and poignant ways—resonated in the graduates' remarks: triumph over adversity. More to come from the graduation on Monday.

Graduation 

On Wednesday,  seniors gathered in the school's cafetorium—after a rainy morning washed out The Knoll—to receive their yearbooks and have their friends sign their yearbooks. Members of the Class of 2011 also bought a senior edition of The Imprint and enjoyed lunch. Click through. 

On Tuesday night,  seniors danced the night away at the junior prom at the Hard Rock in Boston. See pictures from the prom .

Memorial Day

Melrosians lined Main Street on Sunday afternoon for the city's annual Memorial Day Parade. above and add your own photos and videos. 

Before the parade on Sunday, Melrose veterans and officials visited the city's war memorials to mark Memorial Day. Watch here. 

On Friday morning,  students gathered in the auditorium to pay tribute to the veterans sitting on the stage and, more important, the veterans who could not be there for the school's annual Memorial Day Assembly. Check out .

Severe Weather 

The National Weather Service (NWS), which declared a for Melrose and most of the state, extended the watch originally slated to end at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night until 11 p.m.

Police/Fire

Law enforcement agents have in the  branch on Main Street in Melrose—one of seven such robberies the man and woman are accused of.

Schools

The completion of the U.S. Census last year means and across the nation, but the state's initial proposal—while making only minor changes to the city's wards and precincts—included one problem: it moved the  from Ward 5 into Ward 3.
