National Grid Helicopters To Fly Over Melrose Wednesday

Helicopter crews will be spotting troubled power lines across the North Shore.

National Grid helicopters will be hovering over Melrose and much of the North Shore on Wednesday inspecting power lines.

Helicopters may be spotted in the area of Melrose, Salem, Lynn, Saugus, Topsfield, Boxford, Gloucester, and Malden throughout the day, according to National Grid's press office.

The helicopters make spotting trouble spots easier as many of the lines are in remote areas. The goal is to spot and fix troubled lines before power is cut to those cities and towns National Grid services.
