Arlington

 Two people were injured at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday when a 2005 Jaguar X-Type and 2001 Dodge Stratus collided head-on on Mystic Valley Parkway, at Hayes Street. Patricia Randall, 64, of Arlington, who was driving the Jaguar, and 19-year-old Jose Santos, of Boston, the Dodge’s driver, were both taken by ambulance to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to Trooper Kenneth Gaetz, a State Police spokesman. Randall was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Santos to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, he said.

Malden

 Police said they are confident a child abduction scare Wednesday afternoon was a "misunderstanding" after interviewing the suspect and determining "there was no intent to harm, coerce or entice the child."  An unidentified witness filed a police report Thursday morning alleging they saw an alleged abduction of a child leaving Mystic Valley's Bus 1 at the intersection of Clifton and Summer Streets in Malden.  "Detectives located the man in question and he was identified, interviewed, and released after corroborating his story with that of information obtained during the Police Department’s investigation," a statement from the Mayor's office read.

Reading

: On Sept. 2, according to , officers reported to a house party were over 40 youths were present without adult supervision.

As a result of the party, 38 minors are being charged with possession of alcohol and one youth is being charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, police said. Police have decided to implement a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding cases similar to this one. 

Somerville

: A Labor Day fire at a two-story condo building on Irvington Road in West Somerville has displaced five people—a family of four, with two young children, who lived on the second floor and a woman who lived on the first floor, according to Chief Kevin Kelleher of the Somerville Fire Department.
