CHARLESTOWN—Paul Treseler took advantage of the last couple of days of the by visiting them several times. He was there when they came into Boston on Saturday.

Said Treseler, "I was out on the wall of Fort Strong on Long Island to catch these."  On Sunday, he and his family went out on a harbor boat, and visited Arc Gloria, the Colombian Tall Ship. His boat shots were taken from South Boston.

MALDEN—Police say they continue to investigate a shooting near Salem and Pierce Streets that left an Everett man with non-life threatening injuries shortly after 10 p.m. Friday night. 

The victim, whose name was withheld by police, was transported to Mass General Hospital in stable condition.

According to police scanner transmissions, the suspect was described as a male wearing a hooded sweatshirt. A silver Nissan was also sought by authorities in connection to the attack.

SOMERVILLE—Improper Bostonian, a free glossy lifestyle magazine distributed throughout the Boston area, released its "Boston's Best 2012" issue this week, and Somerville walked away with wins in 16 categories.

Among them, Somerville is home to the best Mexican food, best cupcake, best breakfast, best local musician, and best "hot spot" bar or club.

ARLINGTON—Police received a call at about 3:10 a.m. Saturday from a male who said that another driver had just “displayed a bat in a threatening manner” near the intersection of Highland and Eastern avenues.

Once there, police heard from the male caller and his three friends.

The male said that another male had just gotten out of his car and raised a bat over his head in a threatening manner toward him and his friends, who were in their car.
