  • : WAKEFIELD—On Aug. 10, Verizon workers who are part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)protested in front of the intersection of Main Street and Pitman Avenue, where non-striking Verizon workers performed underground utility work. Verizon says it's seeking a solution that "addresses all needs" of those involved.
  • : WOBURN—A Stoneham man charged with killing his young son pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Friday morning in a Woburn court. Brian Saucier, 41, was arraigned Friday at 10:15 a.m. in Middlesex Superior Court.  on one count of first-degree murder for allegedly shaking his infant son, causing serious injuries that resulted in his death eight years later.
  • MEDFORD—Clifford Weeks spent 37 years working with Boston public schools and local communities, most notably serving as a mediator during the tumultuous public school busing integration in the 1970s. He was recently honored as Boston Celtics Heroes Among Us recipient at a State House ceremony.
  • : MALDEN—Tivoli's Restaurant, one of the first gourmet restaurants in the city, is out of business after opening 16 years ago, according to a note found on the front door. The husband and wife team announced that they are retiring and that the restaurant will be closed until they find someone to take over the business.
