  • : WAKEFIELD—David McCall, 72, of Wakefield was indicted this week on charges that he murdered his wife, Elaine McCall, 69, on March 28. McCall is charged with first degree murder, armed assault with the intent to murder a person over age of 60, and improper storage of a firearm out of Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn. He was arraigned on Friday on the charges, to which he pleaded not guilty. He is currently being held without bail.
  • : STONEHAM—The Commonwealth's case against Mark Kerrigan, Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan's brother, came to an end Thursday after a Massachusetts judge sentenced the Stoneham native to the maximum sentence of 2 1/2 years in County jail, with six months suspended. Superior Court Judge S. Jane Haggerty ruled on the side of the prosecution, as Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Keeley recommended Mark Kerrigan serve the maximum sentence.
  • : MEDFORD—Michael Hutt, 58, of Medford allegedly coaxed a 52-year-old agent from her customer service booth by asking for help putting money on his Charlie Card. He then stroked her back and, after being asking not to touch her, grabbed one of her breasts, according to an MBTA police report.

  • : MALDEN—A fluke accident led to a small engine explosion and fire on Eastern Avenue Monday around 8:15 p.m., according to Deputy Chief Jack Colangeli. One man suffered minor injuries as a result of the blast. Colangeli said the incident started as a man worked on a boat engine. He was replacing the fuel filters, and somehow his droplight fell into the small opening and ignited the gas inside. The resulting explosion knocked the man through the air and into the yard at 800 Eastern Ave., an industrial property housing a small car dealership and garage.
