Where's the Cheapest Gas in Melrose? [Sept. 19]

The following information comes from AAA Southern New England:
One week after falling three cents, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are back up by the same three cents this week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 6 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.649 per gallon, up three cents from a week ago. The current price is two cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.66. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.61.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 38 cents, from a low of $3.47 to a high of $3.85.
AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Stay current on maintenance. Keeping a car running properly helps achieve maximum fuel economy. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and do not ignore vehicle warning lights that indicate something is wrong. Warning lights can signal problems that will greatly decrease a car’s fuel efficiency.
