Auditions for "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder

Theatre To Go, Inc. (TTG) announces auditions for their season opener "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder. Callbacks and any remaining initial auditions are Wednesday, September 4, 7-9pm. All roles are available, with a cast of 21 or more; teens through adults. Directed by the team of Amy Cook and Johnbarry Green, we are looking for diversity in casting.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the 2013 edition of the script (sides/scripts provided for the sessions), and we welcome your resumes/headshots, as available (though audition forms will suffice and photos will be taken of each applicant).

CHARACTERS: The Stage Manager – MALE or FEMALE (This is a large role and this actor also plays a variety of roles throughout the play.) George Gibbs – MALE, late teens to early 20’s Emily Webb – FEMALE, late teens to early 20’s Mrs. Gibbs, Mrs. Webb – FEMALES Doctor Gibbs, Mr. Webb – MALES Mrs. Soames – FEMALE (40-60 yrs old) Simon Stimson, Howie Newsome – MALES Constable Warren, Joe Stoddard – MALES Professor Willard – MALE Rebecca Gibbs – FEMALE (11-15 yrs old) Wally Webb, Si & Joe Crowell – MALES, (10-15 yrs old) Sam Craig – MALE (20-30 yrs old)

and Various Townspeople (MALES and FEMALES) with speaking roles

Rehearsals run 7-10pm, Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays with initial read-through scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd. Evening performances at 8:00pm on the Fridays and Saturdays of November 15, 16, 22 and 23, with a 2:00pm matinee on Sunday, November 24th.

This is the troupe's inaugural show in their new role as Artists in Residence at Trinity Episcopal Church, 131 West Emerson Street, Melrose, Mass. There is a parking lot by the main entrance for the hall, on-street parking, and nearby commuter rail parking available in the evenings.
