Tu B'Shevat Seder

Melrose’s Temple Beth Shalom will hold a feast of fruits in honor of the holiday Tu B’Shevat, also known as the New Year for the Trees,  on Fri., Jan. 25 at 7 PM. Participants will eat many kinds of fruits, nuts, and grains, each with rich symbolism attached. The ceremony also includes drinking four cups with different amounts of red and white wine (or juice), representing the four seasons. The seder is brief, and is appropriate for both children and adults.

This event is open to the public. All are welcome. While there is no charge, a donation of $3–5 per family is requested to help cover expenses. For more information or to RSVP, please email Roberta Gertz at rtobeygertz@gmail.com or call 781-665-4520 and leave a message. You can also visit the Temple’s web site at www.tbsma.org. The Temple is located at 21 East Foster St., Melrose.
