Home for the Holidays at the Highlands Church

We have some great things planned for Home for the Holidays, here at the Highlands Church:

  • Miniature golf at the Highlands Nursery School
  • Cookie decorating upstairs for the children
  • Cocoa and mulled cider in Fellowship Hall (sit for a

    while!)

And, a new offering at the Highlands...

We've invited a Melrose resident and children's literature expert to be on hand to answer all your questions about selecting holiday books for the children on your list. Cathryn Mercier is director of the Center for the Study of Children's Literature at Simmons and has served on major children's book award committees. She's selected her particular favorites among this fall's new picturebooks and will be in Fellowship Hall during HFTH to talk with you about them. Cathie has also selected a number of classic holiday titles. We've printed these two lists and will have them on hand as helpful takeaways from this happy kickoff to the holiday season. We'll also be offering a raffle basket of her recommended holiday titles.
