Melrose/Sally Frank's Farmers' Market This Week

Special Events this week....

4-6pm, Live Music from Julie Dogherty It is our pleasure to have Julie back at the market.  Julie's been singing and playing the guitar since the mid-sixties performing folk music at coffeehouses in the Boston area, such as the Unicorn Coffeehouse and the King’s Rook.  She plays both original and cover music.  It is a special pleasure to have Julie at the market!

2:30-6pm, Face Painting by CN Faces, Sandra Woodring will brighten any face with her wide range of face paintings!

5:30-6:30pm, Amy from B-Yoga Center will teach an adult All Levels Gentle Flow class that's great for beginners and experienced yogis alike.  Amy will have a couple extra mats, but best to bring your own.

Dick's Market Garden  Apples - Macintosh, Portland, Gala & Empire.  Pears - Bosc &  Bartlet.  Peaches - white and yellow.  Nectarines, hot peppers, Asian greens (no pesticides), leeks, blue Adirondack potatoes, corn - butter & sugar and white, beans - green & yellow, good variety of tomatoes - heirlooms & cherry, different squashes - Summer, zucchini, butternut, buttercup & spaghetti;  sweet turnips, Asian eggplant, broccoli, kale, tomatillos.

John Crow Farm bringing eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, colored peppers, beans & poultry.

The Fish Lady bringing haddock fillet, bluefish filet, cod fillet, captain's cut cod fillet, flounder fillet, tuna, swordfish steaks, swordfish kabobs, wild Alaskan salmon fillet, fresh shrimp, sea scallops, halibut fillet, crabmeat and trout.  Preorder your fish - call or email by Wednesday at noon - Michelle Kraft, michelle@globefishcompany.com, 781-929-5358.  Leave a message what you would like and a contact phone number you can be reached at.  Michelle said that if she cannot get a preorder, she will call you to let you know, otherwise, expect that it will be at the market waiting for you on Thursday!

Soluna Garden Farm bringing organic, locally grown herbs, flowers, spice blends, herbal teas.

Non-Profit this week... Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) Members of the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) will be on hand to greet the public, distribute information about healthy relationships and information about the upcoming 18th Annual Walk & Candlelight Vigil on Sunday, October 20. Domestic Violence Awareness Bracelets will be available ($15 each or 2 for $25). MAAV is also raffling off a gift card tree worth $300 and an iPad mini. Stop by and say hello!
