Summer Guide to Getting Dressed

Ok ladies, summer is officially here and in New England that means crazy weather and lots of humidity. That leaves us with no idea how to dress! You definitely don’t want to be wearing pants and with hectic schedules you will most likely want to be able to transition from day to night to keep things simple. Bring on the confusion of what to wear at the office, out to dinner, shopping, etc.

Here is a simple guide to make things a little easier:

1.     Dresses are a girl’s best friend!

-        Wrap, A-line, shift, maxi- whatever they may be, they are appropriate for almost every occasion and can be dressed up or down with a change in accessories.

2.     Accessories make the outfit!

-        If you’re wearing a more neutral outfit, pops of colored accessories will transform even the most basic white tee. An easy transition from day to night can be as simple as changing from a flat to a wedge or bangles to a chunky statement necklace.

3.     Be picky!

-        If you want to wear a bright color or print, keep the rest of the outfit simple. You want your bold print or bright color to be the focus of the outfit so keep the accessories neutral.

4.     Central Air isn’t always our friend!

-        Offices, restaurants and stores hike up the AC and when you come in from a sweltering outside in your chic sundress you’ll be wishing for some heat! Skip the sweater and bring a blazer to work or out for dinner for a sophisticated look. Pair a sundress with a jean jacket or vest for a more casual look.
