Help a Melrose Family Bounce Back After House Fire

A GoFundMe page has been created to help a Melrose family rebound following a fire Wednesday morning at their home on Howard Street.

GoFundMe page has been created to help a Melrose family bounce back following a fire Wednesday morning at their home on Howard Street.

"Hi Melrose residents, we need to come together as a community...," Melrosian Denise DeCicco wrote on the GoFundMe page she created on Wednesday. "My neighbor down the street's house caught fire and their son was home sleeping. Their house was completely engulfed with severe damage. I was able to bang on the door and get the son out! I took him to his grandmother's. He is shaken up along with the parents in shock.

"I am looking to get together a community fund for them. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. They are a wonderful family and I know they would reach out to us if we were in this situation. Please help them."

As of 2:30 a.m. Thursday, $100 of the $1,000 goal had been raised for the cause.
