Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters endorses Katherine Clark for Congress

MALDEN – Citing her leadership on environmental issues and commitment to addressing climate change, the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters endorses State Senator Katherine Clark for Congress. Clark is the Democratic Nominee for Congress in the Special Election to be held December 10.

"Senator Clark has been at the forefront of environmental advocacy in the state Legislature, fighting for increased funding for public transit, advocating for renewable energy, reducing toxic substances in manufacturing and seeking expansion of the bottle bill, just to name a few," said Chuck Anastas, Chairman of MLEV’s Board of Directors. "Her support for addressing climate change through energy efficiency, reduction of fossil fuel dependency and clean energy production make endorsing her candidacy for the Massachusetts 5th Congressional District an easy decision."

Katherine believes that Congress needs to take immediate action to address climate change, which has a broad impact on not only our natural environment, but also our economy, public health and national security. Katherine supports funding research and development in the Fifth Congressional District to develop alternative energy resources and will advocate for a carbon pricing system in Congress.

"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters," Clark said. "MLEV has been a diligent advocate on issues relating to climate change and environmental protection and I look forward to continuing to work with them."
