The American Postal Workers Union of Massachusetts endorses Katherine Clark

MALDEN – The American Postal Workers Union of Massachusetts endorsed Katherine Clark in her campaign for Congress. The union is supporting Katherine for her commitment to stand up to extremist Republicans who want to cut Social Security and Medicare instead of working to help middle class families. Clark is the Democratic Nominee for Congress in the special election to be held December 10.

“Working families need Katherine Clark in Congress,” said American Postal Workers Union of Massachusetts President Lorraine Sawyer. “We can count on Katherine to fight for earned sick time, demand an increase in the minimum wage, and invest in early education for our children so that every family can have a shot at the American Dream.”

Katherine firmly believes that Congress needs to be restoring Sequestration budget cuts and finding ways to help the middle class instead of targeting more needless budget cuts that break promises to seniors, create uncertainty for our workers, and hurt our children’s futures. Katherine will fight back against extremist Republicans and find common sense solutions to help families as they work to cover health care costs, pay for college educations, and save for retirement.

“It’s an honor to have the backing of the American Postal Workers Union of Massachusetts,” Clark said. “When our workers get paid a living wage and when parents can get great educations for their children, our economy improves. While Republicans waste time and taxpayer money shutting down the government, I will go to Congress to make progress for our families.”
