Adopt Tippy the Fox Terrier, a 6-Year-Old Purebred

For Tippy the Fox Terrier, life is good.

PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization serving Melrose and other neighboring communities.

Life is good. I mean, I finally have my chance to be the PAWS Pet of the Week. I thought they would never stop with those silly cats and give me my chance to meet you. Hi, I am Tippy. I am a loving six-year-old purebred fox terrier and I love you already.  Ok, I love everyone.  But I am sure I love you even more than everyone else so please, please come adopt me.

I am being fostered at an Animal Hospital and it's fun here.  I get to sit with the receptionist and greet everyone.  When she gets up from her chair, I jump onto it.  They have started giving me my own chair to sit on. I think they might ask me to start answering the phones soon.  So please come and adopt me because, while I like deskwork, I prefer getting out and about.

I adore car rides and going for walks. I am leash trained, I sit on command and I come when called. While I don't mind those tricks, I much prefer being outside and getting exercise with you. Some say I have springs on my paws because I am such an amazing high jumper. I think I might try out for the Olympic trials  Do you think it is too late to make the US High Jump Team?

Everyone who meets me says I am sweet. I think I am just friendly.  I do admit that I get a bit nervous around other animals, especially dogs, so I would prefer to be your one and only. I would also be best with older children. They have put me on a bit of a diet because they say I am ever-so-slightly overweight. But I don’t mind the diet because, well, a girl does like to be at her best weight. I am a real lap dog, so I do want to keep myself fit and trim to snuggle right in with you.

So if you like a dog who enjoys exercise, car rides, and your warm and comfy lap, I think I am your dog. Call quickly. Life is good, but it will be better once we are together.
