Wednesday, March 20 is the first day of spring and the real estate market is hot.
Here are five reasons to sell your house now:
- The market is crazy, demand is up in Massachusetts and supply is down.
- If you are selling, there is far less competition. In the first 78 days of the year, the number of homes for sale in Middlesex County are down an average of 22 percent from the same period in last year.
- Prices are up for the same period while the overall average price of all homes sold is up 4 percent.
- More competition for buyers, many properties are experiencing bidding wars. Due to the overall demand for purchasing and low inventory, sellers are often getting their asking price or in many cases above asking.
- There will never be a better time to move up. Prices are projected to appreciate 15 percent in the next three years. Interest rates are still at all time lows, but as prices increase, interest rates will follow.
