Cambridge Man Facing Drunk Driving Charges in Melrose
At 1:58 a.m. Dec. 6, Melrose Police made a motor vehicle stop in the area of Upham and Sewall Streets. Edwin Randolph, of 338 Hurley St. Apt. #1, Cambridge, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor (second offense), possession of an open container of alcohol, negligent operation of a vehicle, vehicle lights violation, marked lanes violation, attaching plates and no inspection sticker.
Dec. 6
4:01 p.m.: Green Street at Howard Street, report of a minor accident. Police assisted with paper exchange.
6:38 p.m.: Willow Street, caller reported a larceny.
6:45 p.m.: Myrtle Street at Essex Street, caller reported her car was struck while parked on Myrtle. Parties exchanged paperwork.
6:56 p.m.: Melrose Highlands Depot, caller reported that a train gate broken after it came down on his vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle in the process.
Dec. 5
9:25 a.m.: Main Street near North Suburban Orthopedic Associate, report of a past larceny from a vehicle.
4:40 p.m.: Ashcroft Road, report of a hit-and-run accident.
4:56 p.m.: Main Street, report of an accident.
Dec. 4
10:06 a.m.: Main Street near Whole Foods Market, report of an accident. Two vehicles were towed, two people were taken to the hospital and two declined treatment.
10:07 a.m.: Melrose High School at Lynn Fells Parkway, report of a bomb scare. The school resource officer notified police about the threat left in the third flood girls' bathroom. NEMLEC was notified.
3:08 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a larceny at Boston Rock Road.
