Crime in Melrose: 14 Suspects Make Mass Most Wanted List

After reviewing crimes committed in Melrose for nearly a decade, 14 suspects are currently featured on the Mass Most Wanted website.

Of the 14 suspects listed, 11 remain at-large and three have been apprehended, according to the website. 

The dozen-plus crimes in Melrose were committed between 2003 and 2011, according to the site. During that time period, 2003 and 2010 yielded the most suspects wanted in the city with four per year.

The types of crimes committed in Melrose from 2003-2011 included:

  • Six robberies
  • Four bank robberies
  • Four thefts

The most recent unsolved crime in Melrose featured on the Mass Most Wanted website involves a man allegedly stealing from a local bank.

"On (June 15, 2011), a white male entered Sovereign Bank in Melrose and passed a demand note to the teller," reads the case details on the Mass Most Wanted website next to the surveillance images of the suspect. "The (suspect) then fled the bank with a sum of US Currency. The (suspect) was described as a white male, 5'8", early 20s, with slight facial growth.

"The (suspect) was wearing a dark hoodie and brown gloves. All information will be treated as confidential."
