Eastern Bank Robbery Surveillance Photos Released by Police

Robber made off with undisclosed amount of cash.

Melrose Police have released surveillance photos of the person at 27 Melrose St. on Saturday.

Employees told police that the robber was a tan white man in his 20s wearing a black t-shirt and black baseball cap. Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said that robber was also described as wearing light colored shorts and sneakers.

The robber approached the teller window, stated that it was a robbery and told the teller to give them the money they had in the drawer, DeCroteau said.

He left with cash—DeCroteau declined to specify how much due to the ongoing investigation—and walked away from the bank towards Foodmaster.

Melrose Police are investigation in conjunction with State Police and the FBI's Bank Robbery task force.
