Melrose Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint [PHOTOS]

Melrose Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Richdale Convenience Store Wednesday night.

Police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery Wednesday night at a Melrose convenience store, according to a Melrose Police press statement.

At 9:08 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Richdale Convenience Store, 54 West Wyoming Ave., for a report of an armed robbery. 

"(The) suspect entered the store and showed what was described as a dark colored handgun," reads the statement. "(The) suspect demanded money from the cash drawer. Suspect took cash from the drawer and left the store."

The suspect is described as a white man, wearing a dark leather jacket, hooded sweatshirt and dark athletic-style pants with two white stripes down the legs, according to police. The man covered his face by wearing a cloth mask, hood and baseball hat, police added.

Recently there have been multiple similar armed robberies in the Melrose region, including two in Stoneham last week; one at DB Mart convenience store and the other at Sunset Tanning.
