Melrose Man Accused of Assault

Melrose Man Accused of Assault 

At 2:34 a.m. Sept. 11, Melrose Police responded to Main Street at West Foster Street on a report of an assault. Alexandre Bretas, 40, of 24 Stevens Place, Melrose, was arrested and charged with domestic assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.

Sept. 11

11:15 a.m.: An Otis Street resident visited the police station to report items were stolen from her house.

12:19 p.m.: Penney Road at Penney Hill Road, report of dumping on the side of the road. Police were unable to determine the contents of the containers found on the side of the road.

5:01 p.m.: Parents visited the police station to report a past assault, claiming their son had been assaulted at Melrose High School.

Sept. 12

1:23 a.m.: Pine Banks Park on Main Street, report of a suspicious vehicle. A 24-year-old Lowell man was summonsed on charges of having an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, exhibiting another person's driver's license, trespassing with a vehicle and carrying a dangerous weapon.

9:01 a.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. Eneyda Murcia, 36, of 321 Pleasant St., Lowell, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failing to yield or stop. Murcia was also arrested on two warrants out of Chelsea.

12:05 p.m.: Police stopped a moped on Main Street. A 37-year-old Burlington man was summonsed on charges of unlicensed operation of a vehicle and a marked lines violation.

12:26 p.m.: Knoll at Lynn Fells Parkway, report of a past hit-and-run accident. 

4:11 p.m.: A Laurel Street resident visited the police station to report a larceny.

4:27 p.m.: A Pleasant Street resident visited the police station to report items stolen out of vehicle.

7:02 p.m.: Pleasant Street, report of an odor of gas. Police and Fire responded to the scene. Firefighters remained on scene to remove gas odor from an apartment.

8:03 p.m.: Washington Street, report of a breaking and entering into a home.
