Melrose Man Accused of Assaulting a Police Officer
At 5:56 a.m. April 19, Melrose Police responded to Faulkner Place for a report of a larceny, according to a police log. A manager at Turner's Seafood Grill & Market claimed that someone had just stolen a ladder, according to the log. Richard Mullen, 49, of 5 Faulkner Place #1, Melrose, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and larceny under $250, according to the log. A report was taken.

April 15
9:09 a.m.: Police called to Sylvan Road for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle, according to a police log. A report was taken.
10:01 a.m.: Police responded to Ell Pond for a report of a dead cat in the pond, according to a police log. Animal control was notified, according to the log.
1:48 p.m.: Police called to the Hunt's Photo & Video area on Main Street for a report of a brush fire, according to a police log. The fire department handled it, according to the log.
