Melrose Man Arrested on Multiple Warrants
At 11:10 a.m. Oct. 8, Melrose Police responded to Tremont Street to attempt to serve a warrant. John Agostino Jr., 63, of 11 Tremont St., Melrose, was arrested on four warrants.
Oct. 7
9:09 a.m.: Lynn Fells Parkway at Tremont Street, report of a motor vehicle accident. Fire Department and State Police were notified.
Oct. 8
4:42 p.m.: Shaw's Supermarket on Essex Street, report of an homeless man bothering people.
Oct. 9
8:02 p.m.: West Wyoming Avenue, report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Drivers exchanged insurance paperwork.
9:20 a.m.: Upham Street, report of a possible computer scam.
9:49 a.m.: Dunkin' Donuts on Lynn Fells Parkway, report of suspicious activity. The caller reported an homeless-looking man tried to get into his vehicle. After confronting him, the suspect reportedly got into a green minivan with a noticeable gash on the passenger's side. The suspect was described as a white man, 40-50 years old, with a crew cut and wearing gray pants and a white shirt. The driver was described as a "dark skinned black male, (with a) long face (wearing a) Red Sox cap," according to the log. Neither of the men could be located.
2:12 p.m.: A woman visited the police station to report a scam at Dills Court.
3:14 p.m.: Lynn Fells Parkway, report of a minor accident. Police assisted with the insurance paperwork exchange.
5:14 p.m.: Upham Street at Hillside Avenue, report of a motorcycle crash.
Oct. 10
12:55 p.m.: East Foster Street at Highview Avenue, report of suspicious activity. Police received multiple calls for a man slumped over in a blue Ford SUV. One was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
