Melrose Man Summonsed on Heroin Possession Charge
At 6:23 p.m. Dec. 29, Melrose Police responded to Ash Street for a report of an assault. The caller reportedly requested an ambulance. A 35-year-old Melrose man was summonsed on a heroin possession charge.
Dec. 29
1:46 a.m.: Main Street at East Foster Street, stolen vehicle from Everett recovered.
7:08 p.m.: Franklin Street at Chapman Avenue, report of a 911 hangup. The 911 call was transferred from State Police, as it was reportedly about a fight that took place at the VFW Hall on Chipman Avenue. A 34-year-old Lowell man was summonsed on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
Dec. 28
7:19 a.m.: Harding Road, caller reported motor vehicle vandalism. Tires were slashed.
Dec. 27
4:10 p.m.: Belmont Street, report of an hypodermic needle found in a parking lot. The needle was retrieved and disposed of properly.
Dec. 26
11:09 a.m.: Warren Street at Orris Street, report of an accident.
3:23 p.m.: Main Street near Melrose Shell gas statiom, caller reported a hit-and-run accident. Witness reportedly got the license plate number and described the vehicle as a Dodge Intrepid. A 25-year-old Malden man was summonsed on a charge of leaving the scene of property damage.
4:26 p.m.: Franklin Street at Woodland Avenue, report of an accident. Fire Department notified.
6:07 p.m.: Melrose YMCA on Main Street, report of a basketball stolen from the facility.
7:29 p.m.: Trenton Street at Hurd Street, caller reported a two-car accident. Passerby informed officer of ice in the area.
