Six Juveniles Arrested for Allegedly Vandalizing Middle School

At 10:50 a.m. on April 29, Melrose Police responded to Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School on a report of vandalism, according to a police log. Five 13-year-olds and one 14-year-old were arrested and each were charged with one count of tagging property, according to the log. The juveniles allegedly tagged the inside of the school, according to the log.

April 29

4:44 p.m.: Police called to the area of Trenton Street and West Wyoming Avenue for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident, according to a police log. No one was injured in the two-car accident, according to the log. A report was taken.

6:14 p.m.: Police responded to Sargent Street for a past breaking and entering, according to a police log. A report was taken.

April 30

1:30 p.m.: Police called to Gooch Park for a report of a possibly injured woodchuck, according to a police log. The animal was removed by the DPW, according to the log. A report was taken.

6:34 p.m.: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a three-car accident, according to a police log. Melrose Fire and Cataldo notified, according to the log. A report was taken.

May 1

7:40 a.m.: An Essex Street resident visited the police station to report identity theft, according to a police log. A report was taken.

8:45 a.m.: A Mystic Avenue resident visited the police station to report damage to his motor vehicle, according to a police log. A report was taken.

2:20 p.m.: Police responded to West Wyoming Avenue for a report of a past breaking and entering into her vehicle, according to a police log. A report was taken.

5:28 p.m.: Police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Main and Sylvan Streets, according to a police log. A 35-year-old Melrose man was summonsed on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failing to stop/yield, according to the log. A report was taken.

5:44 p.m.: Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in the area of Main and Essex Streets, according to a police log.

May 2

9:56 a.m.: Police called to Avon Street for a report og ongoing harassment, according to a police log. A report was taken.
