8:25 a.m. Report from Herbert Street of threats made via phone call.

9:56 a.m. Caller reports removing oil tanks from West Emerson Street home and when cutting tanks for scrap, oil spilled, according to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau. responded to contain small amount of oil.

12 p.m. Caller from West Foster Street reports stolen pocketbook.

5:23 p.m. Caller reports dog struck by vehicle on West Emerson Street. Dog transported for care by responsible person on scene.

5:27 p.m. Walk-in report from Lynde Street of past larceny.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

1:10 p.m. taking dog for safe keeping; owner transported to hospital last night.

1:27 p.m. reports resident cutting down city tree on Cleveland Street.

11:23 p.m. Caller from Larchmont Road reports past hit and run.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

5:10 p.m. Several 911 calls for a vehicle accident on the Fells at Green Street. Two cars towed, ambulance to .

9:49 p.m. Caller reported a very badly smashed car pulled over on the Fells, just after the Welcome to Melrose sign. Gone upon officer’s arrival.

Thursday, Dec. 22

2:48 a.m. Caller from Hillside Avenue reports someone threw an object through his front door.

11:11 a.m. Report of harassment from Main Street business.

2:05 p.m. Report of vandalism damage to vehicle on Mount Hood Terrace.

5:16 p.m. Several 911 calls on a vehicle accident on Lebanon Street at Malvern Street.  A 24-year-old Malden man was issued a summons on charges of leaving the scene of property damage and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Friday, Dec. 23

11:22 a.m. Complaint of stolen prescription drugs from Bay State Road. Resident reported that when her husband left, a man walked in her house and asked if it was a particular residence, naming a neighbor’s last name, DeCroteau said. The man also stated he worked for MBTA’s The RIDE. She told him he had the wrong house and then heard noise in the kitchen area, asked if he was still in the house and he said yes and left. Items were later discovered missing from the kitchen, DeCroteau said, and investigated by Melrose Police along with assistance from the MBTA to identify person working for The RIDE that day in that area. A 51-year-old Lynn man was issued a summons on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony (person in fear), larceny from person 65 or older, and larceny from a building.

4:09 p.m. Raccoon near house on Lynn Fells Parkway. Gone before officer arrived.

6:06 p.m. Domestic dispute on Linwood Avenue. Christopher Spada Jr., 18, 156 Linwood Ave., Melrose was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person 60 or older, and cruelty to animal.

11:05 p.m. Caller reported a possible intoxicated girl walking on Lebanon Street near Foster. Juvenile was transported home by officer and turned over to her mother.

Saturday, Dec. 24

5:48 p.m. Caller from Crescent Avenue reports past hit and run accident.

Sunday, Dec. 25

8:11 a.m. 911 call of a car with a person passed out behind the wheel of the Dunkin Donuts on the Fellsway in Stoneham. Given to Stoneham Police.

12:24 p.m. Caller states a problem with one of the hoses on the side of on Main Street. Officer was able to shut off the air hose through the car wash; looks like the nozzle fell off.

Monday, Dec. 26

1:19 a.m. Person placed in protective custody on Lebanon Street.

6:18 p.m. Caller from North Forest Street reports past threats

8:04 p.m. Walk-in report of past breaking and entering from Derby Road. Man reported coming home in the afternoon and finding front door and window to backyard open, DeCroteau said. At this time, only item missing is a Nintendo Wii game console.

Other Arrests and Summonses

A 20-year-old Woburn woman was issued a summons on Thursday, Dec. 22 on charges of intimidating a witness (two counts).
