2:19 p.m. Wire down at Hurd Street and Circuit Street. Either phone or cable; moved out of the way.

2:27 p.m. Physician at Melrose Medical Center on Rowe Street reports he was contacted by pharmacy in Medford to verify a prescription attributed to him, but physician said he did not write. Under investigation.

8:13 p.m. Caller states beer bottle broke window on Marvin Road.

9:06 p.m. Dexter Road resident reports stolen meds.

10:58 p.m. Possible overdose. security reports a vehicle pulled in with a male and female requesting medical assistance. Male was taken inside for treatment; Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau declined to comment on the substance that person was possibly under the influence of, citing ongoing investigation.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

6:50 a.m. Past breaking and entering into a vehicle on Everett Street.

8:58 p.m. Officer reports damage to gate at Gooch Park on Maple Street.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

3:57 p.m. Several 911 calls for a fight between two men in front of 438 Main St.

Thursday, Aug. 18

10:01 a.m. Caller reports raccoon possibly injured by automobile on Lebanon Street. Animal Control notified.

10:54 a.m. Hit and run of a Poland Springs truck at on Essex Street.

11:58 a.m. Possible stolen or abandoned bicycle found on South High Street.

4:15 p.m. Verizon worker on Ridgewood Lane reports that picketers were not allowing them to leave. Officers responded, Verizon workers were allowed to leave the area.

Friday, Aug. 19

9:32 a.m. Report of fraud from Linwood Avenue.

9:33 a.m. Caller reports seeing two dumped mattresses on Penney Road. Officer confirms trash dumped.

9:34 a.m. Saw reported stolen from Essex Street.

10:01 p.m. Bicycle reported stolen from Pleasant Street.

Saturday, Aug. 20

10:26 a.m. Smiley face taken from tree on Main Street. Unknown theft.

10:47 a.m. Report of a past breaking and entering on Upham Street.

12:40 p.m. Female causing a disturbance at on Main Street.

Sunday, Aug. 21

4:24 p.m. Report of hit and run car accident on Heywood Avenue.

9:26 p.m. Larceny from Main Street reported.

Arrests and Summonses

Quinn Hennessy, 37, 38 Fairmount Ave., Wakefield, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 16 on charges of OUI liquor and a one way violation.

A 30-year-old Methuen woman was issued a summons on Friday, Aug. 19 on charges of driving with a licensed revoked as a habitual traffic offender (HTO), and failing to wear a seat belt.

A 46-year-old Melrose man was placed under warrant arrest on Friday, Aug. 19.
