9:12 a.m. Caller from West Emerson Street reports threats.

10:24 a.m. Forged bills reported from Tower Plaza Variety on Main Street. Two counterfeit $20 bills used. Police reviewing surveillance tape from store, according to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau. Under investigation.

2:55 p.m. Possible attempted break in at Washington Street home.

Friday, Feb. 3

5 p.m. Kids causing problems banging on windows and ringing bell at Horace Mann School. Officer sent them on their way.

5:58 p.m. Walk-in request for an area check of West Woodcrest Drive. Man reported a woman rang his doorbell then ran when they answered the door.

7:47 p.m. Caller reports erratic operator driving over sidewalk and crossing double yellow line at Main Street and Franklin Street. Officer reports driver had dog in car that interfered with operation. Verbal warning.

Saturday, Feb. 4

8:23 a.m. Report of a large tree branch interfering with traffic at Greenwood Street and Franklin Street. DPW called out.

8:40 a.m. Damage to property on Bay State Road.

3:29 p.m. Shoplifting reported from on Main Street.

8:58 p.m. CVS reports person that stole property earlier in the day is present in the store.

Sunday, Feb. 5

11:35 a.m. Identity fraud reported from on Main Street.

1:27 p.m. Cell phone caller stated a large amount of dry wall and metal dumped near J.J. Grimsby’s on Lynn Fells Parkway. State Police notified.
