10:23 a.m. reports possible fraud to elderly customer regarding a fake sweepstakes and bank account number.

2:27 p.m. Letter carrier reports black and white pit bull wandering around Cleveland Street and Baxter Street. Animal Control notified. Owner found dog and took it home.
3:07 p.m. Skunk in roadway on Goss Avenue appear ill, walking in circles. Animal Control not available.

Wednesday, June 6
3:08 a.m. Caller from Cottage Street reports altercation with roommate. A 37-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
9:36 a.m. branch manager requests officer for reports of larceny/forgery/fraud. Customer had deposited a check and then attempted to withdraw a bank check for the same amount of the deposit either the same day or next, according to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau. Investigation is ongoing.
10:52 a.m. Check fraud reported from .
1:17 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Renwick Road.
2:40 p.m. Construction company had steel stolen from outside on Green Street.
8:06 p.m. 911 report of possible drug overdose on Grove Street. Transported to hospital.
9:56 p.m. Unruly customer reported from Mobil gas station.
Thursday, June 7
9:56 a.m. Caller from Fuller House elderly housing project on Cottage Street reports past damage to motor vehicle.
10:10 a.m. Caller from Groveland Road reports finding what he believes to be a human bone. Bone was discovered by landscaping crew, DeCroteau said. Melrose Police detectives checked the surrounding area, found nothing, and took bone into possession for testing.
12:33 p.m. Walk-in report from Fuller House elderly housing project on Cottage Street of stolen purse.
6:24 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Ash Street.

12:16 p.m. Caller from Youle Street reports possible scam.
1:13 p.m. Trash dumping reported on Dexter Road.

2:10 a.m. Report from East Foster Street of boyfriend kicking door. A 37-year-old Stoneham man was issued a summons on charges of malicious damage to a motor vehicle (two counts) and malicious destruction of property worth less than $250.
8:30 a.m. Skunk trapped in squirrel cage on Grove Street. Animal Control Officer notified.
9:42 a.m. Past car break reported from West Emerson Street.
11:26 a.m. Reports of possible coyote in area of West Wyoming Avenue and Trenton Street. Officer spoke with several neighbors who reported seeing the animal. Animal Control notified.
12:49 p.m. Report of missing jewelry from Green Street.
3:29 p.m. Larceny/forgery/fraud reported from Essex Street.

A 50-year-old Melrose man was placed under warrant arrest on Tuesday, June 5.
Michael T. Keohan, 51, 15 Auburn St., Melrose, was arrested on Thursday, June 7 on the charge of violating an abuse prevention order.
