A 54-year-old Melrose man reportedly missing since Tuesday night was found dead at a Saugus reservation Wednesday afternoon, officials told the Boston Globe.
After locating his car around noon on Wednesday, State and local police found the body of the missing man around 12:30 p.m. at Breakheart Reservation, authorities told the Globe.
Police found the man’s dog alive near his body, and the pet was later returned to his family, prosecutors told the Globe. The man typically took the dog for walks in the area where they were found, according to the report.
The man, who has not been identified by authorities, had been missing since Tuesday evening after his wife called police to report that he had not come home that night, according to the report.
Foul play is not suspected, prosecutors told the Globe.
