Couple Allegedly Smash Each Other's Windshields

At 11:34 p.m. Feb. 1, Melrosoe Police were called to Mystic Avenue on a report of a disturbance. The caller reported that her boyfriend just broke the windshield of her car, according to police. A report was taken.

A short time later at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 2, police returned to the Mystic Avenue residence on a report of a disturbance. The caller reported that his girlfriend just broke his windshield, according to police. A report was taken.

Jan. 28

11:34 a.m.: Police called to Grove Street for a report of hypodermic needles found on the ground. Police retrieved the needles and disposed of them properly.

11:45 a.m.: Police responded to an Island Hill Avenue apartment on a report of a past breaking and entering and burglary. The caller reported finding items missing after returning home from vacation, according to police. A report was taken.

11:47 a.m.: Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in the area of Lebanon and Grove Streets. No tows or transports logged.

1:56 p.m.: Police and Fire crews responded to Alfredo's Italian Kitchen on West Emerson Street for a report of a possible structure fire. The caller reported smoke throughout the building, according to police. The fire was extinguished quickly.

6:19 p.m.: Police called to Porter Street for a report of a past breaking and entering and burglary. A report was taken.

7:02 p.m.: Police responded to the Winthrop Elementary School on a complaint of damage done to the property. A report was taken.

Jan. 29

9:57 a.m.: Police called to Melrose High School for a report of a larceny. A person reported their iPhone was stolen at the school, according to police. A report was taken.

Jan. 30

7:33 a.m.: Police responded to the area of Green and Howard Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged. A report was taken.

12:25 p.m.: Police called to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Lebanon Street for a report of an assault. Police summonsed a 29-year-old Saugus man on a charge of assault and battery.

5:21 p.m.: Police responded to Bay State Road for a report of a hypodermic needle found in the area. The needle was retrieved and disposed of properly.

5:33 p.m.: Police called to a Hurd Street apartment for a report of a larceny. The caller reported that their cell phone was stolen at the YMCA, according to police. A report was taken.

Jan. 31

1:49 a.m.: Police responded to a West Wyoming Avenue apartment on a noise ordinance complaint. The party called it a night, according to police.

5:47 a.m.: Police and Fire crews called to Penney Hill Road for a report of power lines sparking. Firefighters cleared the scene, according to police.

9:28 a.m.: Police called to Cricklewood Lane for a complaint. The caller reported suspected damage to vehicle, as it had four flat tires, according to police. A report was taken.

12:09 p.m.: Police responded to Grove Street on a report of vehicle vandalism. The caller reported that their tires had been slashed, according to police.

12:23 p.m.: Police called to Music Shop on West Emerson Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Police assisted with insurance paperwork swap.

3:07 p.m.: Police responded to a Newburyport Turnpike apartment for a report of a restraining order violation. Police summonsed a 34-year-old Dorchester man on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.

5:20 p.m.: Police called to Elmhurst Nursing Home for a report of a three-car accident. A report was taken.

Feb. 1

1:36 a.m.: Police made a motor vehicle stop on West Wyoming Avenue. Police summonsed a 49-year-old Arlington on charges of not having an inspection sticker on their vehicle and unlicensed operation of a vehicle. A report was taken.

10:47 a.m.: Police responded to Oak Grove Avenue for a report of a past breaking and entering. 

1 p.m.: Police called to Porter Street for a report of a gas odor in the area. Fire and gas companies were notified also, according to police. An exposed gas line was discovered near a tree that was uprooted the day before, according to police. Issue to be resolved by gas company, according to police.

3:19 p.m.: Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident near the entrance to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Feb. 2

12:56 a.m.: Police called to a Pleasant Street apartment on a report of a larceny. A report was taken.

2:35 a.m.: Police responded to West Wyoming Avenue for a noise complaint. The party agreed to keep the noise down, according to police.

5:11 p.m.: Police called to a Pleasant Street apartment on a report of a domestic disturbance. Police summonsed a 24-year-old Melrose man on a charge of assault.

10:48 p.m.: Police responded to an East Emerson Street apartment on a noise complaint. The party agreed to keep the noise down, according to police.

Feb. 3

1:05 p.m.: A Lebanon Street resident visited the police station to report a larceny. A report was taken.

2:17 p.m.: Police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident at Fields Court. No tows or transports logged.

3:57 p.m.: Police called to Rite Aid Pharmacy on Main Street for a report of a false prescription received at the pharmacy. A report was taken.

5:47 p.m.: Police responded to Country Club Road on a complaint that a hydrant was knocked over. DPW was notified, and a report was taken, according to police.

8:18 p.m.: Police responded to Berkeley Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A DPW truck struck a parked vehicle, according to police. A report was taken.
