POLICE LOG: Melrose Man Accused of Violating Abuse Prevention Order

Sept. 17

@8:03 a.m.: Police called to Pine Banks Park for a report of vandalism. Police to file a report.

@2:22 p.m.: Police called to the area of Melrose and Albion Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.

@4:50 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Upham and East Streets on a report of a two-car crash. A report was taken.

@7:31 p.m.: Police responded to Pleasant and Washington Streets area for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A minor accident with both parties exchanging insurance paperwork.

Sept. 18

@10:01 p.m.: Police called to Marvin Road for a report of a tree down on a car. Cable wires also down, according to police. A report was taken.

Sept. 19

@1:33 a.m.: Police responded to the area of Howard and Cochrane Streets for a report of flooding. Residents helped clear some of the flooding, according to police.

@9:11 a.m.: Police called to Upham Street and Woodcrest Drive area for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.

@3:10 p.m.: Police called to Garland Street for a report of a burglary. The break-in attempt was at the back door, according to police. A report was taken.

@3:26 p.m.: Police responded to West Emerson Street for a report of a past motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.

@4:43 p.m.: Police called to Nason Drive for a report of harassment. A summons was sought.

@5:30 p.m.: Police responded to Bellevue Avenue for a report of an attempted breaking and entering. The suspect tried to get in through the basement door, according to police. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

@7:02 p.m.: Police called to the area of Tremont and West Emerson Streets for a report of a two-car crash. A report was taken.

Sept. 20

@9:54 a.m.: Police called to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on a report of a possible restraining order violation. Steven Farrell, 53, of 77 West Highland Ave., Melrose, was arrested and charged with violating an abuse prevention order.

@11:57 a.m.: Police called to the area of Foodmaster for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. 

@1:43 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Walgreens for a report of a motor vehicle accident.

Sept. 21

@9 a.m.: Police called to Lebanon Street ona report of a motor vehicle accident. A car backed into another vehicle, according to police. A report was taken.

@7:43 p.m.: Police called to Malvern Street on a report of a stolen scooter. 

@10:39 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a past larceny at Melrose Highlands Congregational Church.

Sept. 22

@2:25 p.m.: Police called to Henry Avenue for a report of a disturbance. A 15-year-old boy was reportedly "out of control," according to police. The juvenile was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

Sept. 23

@9:11 a.m.: Police called to Melrose Towers Condominiums for a complaint call. A woman claimed her husband took her 2012 Toyota Highlander company vehicle, according to police. Police to file a report.

@10:14 a.m.: Police responded to Upham Street for a report of stolen bike tires. A report to follow.

Sept. 24

@7:14 a.m.: Police called to Beech Avenue for a report of two breaking and entering into motor vehicles. A report was taken.
