Two Arrested on B&E Charges

At 2:10 a.m. Feb. 27, Melrose Police responded to Laurel Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. Christopher Goveo, 19, of 30 Clinton St., Malden, and Peter Neusner, 22, of 107 Pleasant St., Cambridge, were each arrested and charged with a felony count of daytime breaking and entering.

Cambridge Man Arrested in Melrose

At 2:34 p.m. Feb. 25, Melrose Police responded to Swains Pond Avenue to assist Malden Police in a search for a six-foot-tall white male, wearing a black hoodie and white backpack. James Killackey, 29, of 65 Fifth St., Cambridge, was arrested on a warrant.

Feb. 25

7:38 a.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Fellsway East for a report of a motor vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged.

8:32 a.m.: Police called to intersection of Main Street and West Highland Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident. One vehicle was towed, according to police. No injuries logged. A report was taken.

9:57 a.m.: Police responded to Wyoming Depot on West Wyoming Avenue for a report of a hypodermic needle found in the area. The item was retrieved and disposed of properly, according to police. A report was taken.

4:54 p.m.: Police called to Fuller House elderly housing project for a report of fraud. A report was taken.

5:10 p.m.: Police responded to Maple Street for a report of a breaking and entering. The caller claimed someone kicked in her front door, according to police. A report was taken.

5:39 p.m.: Police and Fire called to Beech Avenue on a report of a yard fire. 

5:40 p.m.: Police responded to Lake Avenue for a report of a hit-and-run vehicular accident. The caller reported that their vehicle was hit while in the driveway by another vehicle, according to police. A report was taken.

8:49 p.m.: Police and Fire responded to the area of Cass and East Foster Streets for a report of a strong odor of gas. National Grid was notified, according to police.

Feb. 26

11:27 a.m.: Police called to Melrose High School on a report of a larceny. The caller reported their iPhone had been stolen, according to police. A report was taken.

4:46 p.m.: Police responded to Myrtle Street near St. Mary of the Annuncation for a hit-and-run vehicular accident. A report was taken.

5:56 p.m.: Police called to West Emerson Street on a report of a breaking and entering. A report was taken.

Feb. 27

7:17 a.m.: Police responded to East Foster Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged.

3 p.m.: Police called to intersection of Main and East Foster Streets for a report of traffic lights not working properly. DPW was notified, according to police.

5:29 p.m.: Police responded to Bellevue Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident. The caller reported that the accident happened while assisting a disabled vehicle, according to police. A report was taken.

Feb. 28

8 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report improper placement of flags at Ell Pond. The issue was corrected, according to police.

12:17 p.m.: Police called to the intersection of Lynn Fells Parkway and Green Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police took over the scene, according to police. 

12:32 p.m.: Police responded to a Pleasant Street apartment on a report of a past breaking and entering. A report was taken.

7:43 p.m.: A Lodge Avenue resident visited the police station to report a larceny. A report was taken.

7:57 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Corey and Grove Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged. A report was taken.

8:04 p.m.: A Norman Road resident visited the police station to report fraud. A report was taken.
