Woburn Man Arrested on B&E, Theft Charges in Melrose

At 11:47 a.m. April 2, Melrose Police responded to a West Emerson Street home on a report of a possible breaking and entering, according to the log. Robert Adams, 30, of 974 Main St., Woburn, was arrested and charged with a felony count of daytime breaking and entering into a building, larceny over $250, receiving stolen property over $250 and larceny under $250.

April 1

1:49 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report threats and harassment, according to the Melrose Police log. A report was taken.

2:26 p.m.: A woman visited the police station to report a past hit-and-run incident on Hunnewell Street, according to the log. A report was taken.

5:19 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Melrose Street and Lynn Fells Parkway for a report of a motor vehicle accident, according to the log. A report was taken.

April 2

9:29 a.m.: Police called to the area of Rite Aid on Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident, according to the log. A report was taken.

3:04 p.m.: Police responded to Nason Drive for a report of a drug overdose, according to the log. The caller reported the person as being non-responsive in the shower with a needle in their arm, according to the log. One person was transported to the hospital, according to the log. 

8:09 p.m.: Police responded to Washington Street for a report of loud construction noise, according to the log. The iron works company discontinued work for the night, according to the log.

April 3

7:43 a.m.: Police called to the intersection of Grove and Main Streets for a motor vehicle accident, according to the log. The caller reported a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle, according to the log. A report was taken.

9:57 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report an assault on West Wyoming Avenue, according to the log. A 30-year-old Melrose resident was summonsed on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

1:45 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a stolen license plate on Porter Street, according to the log. A report was taken.

2:19 p.m.: Police responded to Walgreens on Main Street for a report of a customer buying hypodermic needles and then allegedly using them in the bathroom, according to the log. The person could not be located.

4:16 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a larceny on Ashland Street, according to the log. A report was taken.

6:26 p.m.: Police responded to West Emerson Street to serve a warrant. John Garniss, 47, of 44 West Emerson St. Apt. #5, Melrose, was arrested on a warrant. He was also summonsed on a charge of possession of a class A drug, according to the log.

9:58 p.m.: Police called to Washington Street for a report of a past breaking and entering, according to the log. A report was taken.
