Police Respond to Vandalism Calls

At 8:58 a.m. March 25, a person visited the police station to report vandalism. The Romulus Hair Design building was tagged, according to police. A report was taken.

At 2:45 p.m. March 26, police called to Coolidge Condominium on Main Street for a report of vandalism. A report was taken.

March 25

11:57 a.m.: Police called to Main Street on a complaint of a truck that struck a tree, causing a branch to break off. The DPW was notified, according to police. A report was taken.

5:37 p.m.: Police responded to a Waverly Place apartment for a report of a possible past breaking and entering. A report was taken.

6:38 p.m.: Police called to the area of Shaw's Supermarkets on Essex Street on a report of a hypodermic needle found in a snow bank. The needle was recovered and disposed of properly, according to police.

March 26

1:02 a.m.: Police responded to a West Wyoming Avenue apartment for a report of a minor kitchen fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, according to police. 

1:36 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report a past hit-and-run incident. A report was taken.

7:42 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Upham and Lebanon Streets for a report of an odor of gas outside a structure. National Grid responded to the scene, according to police. 

March 27

9:39 a.m.: A woman visited the police station to report a past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle on Mount Vernon Avenue. A report was taken.

11:32 a.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Vinton and West Emerson Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A detail officer reported the incident as a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident. A report was taken.

3:56 p.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Police assisted with the insurance paperwork exchange.

4:43 p.m.: Police responded to Boston Rock Road on a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. A report was taken.

7:26 p.m.: Police called to the area of Upham and Lebanon Streets on a report of an assault and erractic driving. A report was taken.

7:51 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report their iPod went missing at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School. A report was taken.

10:05 p.m.: Police responded to Town Line Inn for a report of a violation of an abuse prevention order. A report was taken.
