Police Searching For Home Break-In Suspects

The crimes occurred Tuesday night.

North Andover Police are searching for suspects involved in two Tuesday night break-ins.

At 11:33 p.m., police received a call from a resident on Greene Street who said he saw a male running out of his garage. The suspect had broken into both of the cars there and stole $4 in change. A bike was found on a nearby street but it is unclear if that belonged to the suspect.

Officers William Brush and Jason Wedge searched near Tavern Road and North Andover Middle School. Wedge and Sgt. Daniel Crevier then searched the woods behind Tavern Road and reportedly found a pair of green flannel pants but not the suspect.

At 11:49 p.m., police received another call, this time from Woodbridge Road, reporting that a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt had broken into their home through a window. When the homeowner investigated noises, he came face-to-face with the suspect in his kitchen.

The suspect reportedly fled to a trail near the house. Police found a hat -- which the homeowner said the suspect was wearing -- but did not find the suspect.

A bike was also found in that home's driveway. Police are processing that bike, as well as the one found near the other break-in, for evidence.

Police do not have a clear description of the suspects other than the Woodbridge Road suspect being a tall white male.

The break-ins are under investigation, and Police Lt. Charles Gray is asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual in that area near downtown to call the North Andover Police Station at 978-683-3168.

Gray added that residents should keep their doors locked at night, use exterior lights when possible and be aware when neighbors are not home.
